We are honored to announce that we raised $4800+ through our 1st Annual Charity Show'04     "Drishti" held on Nov 5th '05 benefiting Sankara Eye Foundation and $31,000+ through our 2nd Annual Charity Show "Vasant" on June 3rd, 2007 benefitng Ekal Vidyalaya

Our 3rd Annual Charity Show dedicated to UNICEF's programs in India held on June 7th, 2008 raised $10,400 while showcasing beautiful dances and 2 productions: "Snow White" and "Chitra - The Warrior Princess". 

 

 
  

Nava Nritya Dance Academy of Philadelphia trains dance enthusiasts of ALL ages in Bharatnatyam

(South Indian Classical Dance) and Navanritya (contemporary synthesis of classical dance forms, martial arts, yoga and ballet). This institution was founded in February 2004 as a training school and has evolved into a close-knit family of 30 students and 4 senior trained dancers.

Comprehensive classes are held in a beautiful ballet dance studio (fully mirrored) in the heart of suburban Philadelphia on Sundays at reasonable rates.

Students also gain knowledge in fundamentals of other classical dance forms and folk dances to develop a strong foundation essential for becoming a true exponent and choreographer of the powerful language of Indian Traditional and Contemporary Art.

Students enrolled at Nava Nritya Dance Academy also get opportunities to perform at various prestigious events & corporate shows in the Philadelphia area, in association with professional dance troupe Navrang: schedule of events.

    This institution was established in January 2004 and currently two intermediate/advanced groups of students have completed 4+ years of classical dance lessons (adults and children) and another group of children are in their third year of lessons. A new beginner group of children have just started their lessons and we are accepting new beginner level children interested in learning classical dance. Please email us at: teach_ad@hotmail.com.
